Schroth Method:
Specialized and Expert Care in the Management of Scoliosis
Developed in Meissen, Germany in 1921, the Schroth Method, a form of physiotherapeutic scoliosis-specific exercises (PSSE), focuses on managing scoliosis at diagnosis and through adult hood. Research shows that scoliosis with curves over 30 degrees at skeletal maturity have a higher chance of continued change through adulthood. The main goal of conservative PSSE is to help reach skeletal maturity with a curve below 30 degrees, lowering the risk of further progression.
helps reduce the risk of curve progression
improve posture, muscular symmetry and breathing mechanics
support long-term spine health even though progression cannot be predicted
